(Alexandria, VA and Washington, DC)— The National Alliance for Care at Home (the Alliance) successfully hosted its first Annual Meeting & Exposition in New Orleans, Louisiana, from Nov. 1-4, 2025. The event convened leaders from across the care at home community, and focused on industry challenges, innovative best practices, and fostering meaningful connections between leaders. Over 1,700 attendees and exhibitors joined the first annual event, which included leadership-centered programming, professional growth opportunities, an industry leading expo, and networking.
On November 1-2, Pre-conference attendees participated in three professional development workshops and activities, including: Manager Development Program Foundational Course, H3IT: Home Healthcare, Hospice, and information Technology Conference, and Introduction to Hospice Compliance and Quality Workshop.
The event officially kicked off on Sunday, Nov. 2, with a keynote session featuring Dr. Steven Landers, Chief Executive Officer of the Alliance, and Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry. The conversation centered around the current state of care in the home and took a look at the path ahead for providers. Attendees left with a better understanding of policy, partnership, and community opportunities shaping the next phase of growth and innovation in care at home. Afterwards, attendees convened at an Opening Reception in the Exhibit Hall.
Monday’s program began with an impassioned keynote session featuring Emmy-Nominated Actress and Podcast Host Yvette Nicole Brown. As host of the Squeezed Podcast, which focuses on caregiving, Brown discussed how her role as a caregiver for her father shaped her outlook on compassion, leadership, and the power of community. The session highlighted the importance of amplifying caregiver stories and explored ways to strengthen organizational culture and support systems through empathy, storytelling, and caregiver experiences.
Throughout the day, attendees joined educational sessions centered around industry topics such as compliance, engaging with caregivers, strategies for regulatory advocacy, leadership, AI adoption, and more.
On Tuesday, the day began with a series of educational sessions geared toward advancing care at home. The afternoon keynote session featured Peter J. Pronovost, MD, Chief Quality & Clinical Transformation Officer, University Hospitals, and Co-Author of Safe Patients, Smart Hospitals. As a leading expert in patient safety and quality improvement, Dr. Pronovost shared lessons from his work improving hospital systems and how those strategies can inform care at home practices.
The conference concluded with the National Hospice Foundation Gala, held at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. This ticketed reception celebrated the Foundation, shared its plan for future growth and evolution, and gave thanks to donors and members.
“This first annual meeting and expo as the Alliance showcased our strength as a unified organization. We were thrilled to bring together leaders in home health, hospice, and the breadth of care at home from across the nation to unite, learn, and share our commitment to creating a future where all Americans have access to high-quality, person-centered healthcare wherever they call home,” said Alliance CEO Dr. Steve Landers. “We look forward to continuing to convene the care at home movement and work toward our shared purpose.”
