The Medicare Home Health Conditions of Participation (CoPs) are federal regulations established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) that define the minimum health and safety standards that home health agencies (HHAs) must meet in order to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
The CoPs are designed to ensure high-quality care for beneficiaries receiving home health services and to protect their rights and safety while promoting effective care delivery and continuous quality improvement.
Non-compliance with the CoPs can lead to deficiencies, corrective actions, or even termination from the Medicare program.
